Here are some great colors and swatches from new collections I recently picked up.
In late April, Clinique launched a new line of polishes called “A Different Nail Enamel for Sensitive Skins”. Basically, the description claims that if you get it in your eyes, it won’t burn. Not sure where the sensitive skin part of the name comes in, but I would guess it wouldn’t irritate if it got on your skin? I’m not sensitive to polish, other than the smell, so I can’t really test this part. I can say that it still smells just as bad as any other polish. I purchased Pinkini, which is a limited edition shade. The brush is good, similar to OPI and it wears nicely. Would purchase more from this line if there was a color I couldn’t live without.
Cost: $16
Available at: Clinique, Neiman Marcus (for Pinkini color), or any Clinique department store counter.
Morgan Taylor Lacquer is another line that launched earlier this year. This is a professional polish and the company claims the finish is extremely smooth due to the special ingredients they use. This is from the same company that makes Gelish. It goes on smooth and is highly pigmented. The swatch below only took two coats to produce a completely opaque finish, even when I hold the wheel up to the light. I purchased Lip Service and Wish You Were Here. I like them both and will probably wear them often. I am happy with this brand and hope to see more of their unique colors in the future.
Cost: $8
Available at: CosmoProf or your nail salon.
I purchased two colors from the OPI San Francisco fall collection in Peace & Love & OPI and In the Cable Car Pool Lane. These were the only two colors from the collection that I thought were unique. The Peace & Love & OPI is very similar to the really old Revlon Khakazig, which I love so I was happy to see something fresh in this color range.
Cost: $8
Available at: CosmoProf or your nail salon.
I purchased Revlon Colorstay Longwear Nail Enamel in Rich Raspberry from their new selection of colors after seeing it on someone else. The color it appears in the bottle is less than stellar, but it looks great on nails with topcoat. I don’t care for the Revlon brushes, they are super wide, making it almost impossible to keep skin and cuticles clean unless you have square nail beds. I liked this color enough to deal with that though.
Cost: $8
Available at: Drugstore.com and any local drugstore.
All swatches are two coats of color with OPI top coat. I didn’t mention You’re Such a Budapest since it’s not new…

Update: Loving the Morgan Taylor days later, still looks amazing. Going for more colors asap. Clinique polish is so so. Won’t be purchasing more, not worth the price. MT shown below.
